Description
Hexagonal Compound Lens Array
The Hexagonal Compound Lens Array (also known as ‘Flys Eye Lens Array’) sample is prepared in Luximprint’s flagship LUX Crystalline material. It is a rather large sample item (130 mm diameter) that aims to demonstrate the optical 3D printing capabilities and repeatability of structures over larger surfaces.
The hexagonal lens array can obtain the maximum fill factor, which means that there are no gaps between the lenses. The gapless lens array can obtain uniform light distribution to control the diffuse angle when a point or line light source goes through it, which is desired for various applications. Lens arrays with a high fill factor will capture the most incident light to increase the signal-noise ratio and optical performance.
The compound eye is widely used in image-capturing applications, stage lighting, optoelectronics, digital displays and other fields, owing to its advantages of low weight, large field of view, and high time resolution.
